Common problems before entering the well.

Before applying the drill pipe into the well, it should be placed neatly on the drill pipe rack which is above 0.3M from the road and has sufficient shelf piers to avoid rusting of the drill pipe by water, internal moisture, soil, etc.; the drill pipe supports should be maintained parallel and on the same level surface to avoid bending and deformation of the drill pipe; the drill pipe located on both sides of the pipe supports should be fastened with plug blocks to avoid turning and falling of the drill pipe. The drill pipe on both sides of the pipe support should be fastened with plugs to prevent the drill pipe from flipping and falling.

When the drill pipe is drilled, the threads of the drill pipe joints and the shoulders of the drill pipe should be completely removed and checked to make sure they are intact before they are used in the well. During the whole process of drilling the drill pipe up and down the drilling platform, the drill pipe joint must be equipped with a good wire guard (steel wire guard is proposed) to avoid bumping and damage to the joint threads and shoulder surface during the whole process of lifting and pulling tightly.

During the whole process of lifting the drill pipe on the drilling platform along the slide, the hoisting winch should try to maintain an even speed, and when the drill pipe leaves the slide, a soft rope should be used to stop it manually to avoid knocking.

Before the wellbore is connected to the single strip, the threads and shoulders of the joint should be cleaned and checked again, and after making sure there is no problem, the special type of oil for crude oil drilling tools with 60% fine metal lead powder or 40-60% fine metal zinc powder should be wiped onto the threads and sealing shoulders of the joint in a certain amount and proportionally (the threads and shoulders of the female pipe mouth joint should also be wiped with a certain amount and proportionally). In addition, it is necessary to avoid the penetration of sand and other dirty things into the thread oil, which may endanger the characteristics of the thread oil or scratch the threads and shoulders.

Common problems in the application of drill pipe.

When a new drill pipe is applied for the first time in the well, it is proposed to carry out the actual operation of screwing and unscrewing the joint twice in the wellbore with a torque slightly less than the standard value to make sure that the threads and protruding surface of the joint are intact, then wipe the threads of the joint with a certain amount and proportionate amount of wireline oil and tighten the threads of the joint according to the specified torque, and then apply it in the well. The actual operation of this type of break-in period is beneficial to strengthen the surface strength of the threads, improve the anti-sticky characteristics of the threads, and increase the service life of the drill pipe.

When connecting the drill pipe in the wellbore, human power should be carried out to lead the buckle to avoid the impact of the male joint to the bore or thread of the female joint, which may cause damage; then carry out human power to recognize the buckle with a chain vise, introduce no less than two buckles and then tighten the thread of the drill pipe joint with a hydraulic machine power vise according to the specified torque (steel grade, specification type and water eye size are different, and the necessary torque for the upper buckle is also different, so be sure to pay attention to the differences in many aspects).

Every time before entering the well, the sling must be changed on the drill pipe riser, so that each pair of joints can get a practical operation on the sling during the whole process of starting and lowering the drill three times, so that each joint thread can be checked immediately to reduce problems such as sticky buckle, dislodgement and thorn leakage. In addition, the upper and lower drilling tool parts should be exchanged on time to change the bearing capacity of the drilling tool, so that the bearing capacity of each part of the full set of drilling tool tends to be the same, so as to improve the service life of the drilling tool and reduce the generation of invalid safety accidents at the beginning of the drilling tool.

After the drilling work is carried out, the drilling tools are placed neatly and tidily on the drill pipe shelf according to different specification models, wall thickness, water eye size, steel grade and categorization level. Immediately use cold water to completely remove, clean and dry the inner and outer surfaces of the drilling tools, the threads of the joints, and their shoulder protrusions. Check whether there are cracks and lines on the surface of the drill pipe, whether the threads are intact, whether the joints are biased, whether the shoulder surface is level and not rubbed, whether the pipe body is bent and squeezed, and whether there are defects such as leaching and floating rust on the internal and external surfaces of the drill pipe. If the standard allows, ultrasonic flaw detector and magnetic particle flaw detector should be carried out regularly on the drill pipe body and the thread position to reduce the probability of invalid safety accidents such as rupture of the joint thread and leakage of the drill pipe body. The drilling tools without problems should be wiped with rust inhibitor on the threads and shoulder protrusions, wear wire guards and improve various protective measures.

On the spot, mark the problematic drill pipes with paint and store them separately to avoid misuse. And immediately carry out repair and replacement of the problematic drill pipes to prevent jeopardizing the construction work in the middle and later stages of the project. For the drill pipes that are stored outdoors for a long period of time, they should be covered with waterproof and rainproof cloth, and the leaching condition of the internal and external surfaces of the drill pipes should be maintained regularly to improve the waterproof and anti-corrosion work.
